How To Waterproof Wood Vanity

how to waterproof wood vanity

A bathroom vanity cabinet is one of the commonest fixtures in a bathroom, and they range from the very expensive to more modest self-built items. if you are creating a bathroom vanity from scratch, there will come a point when you will need to waterproof the cabinet in order to ensure that the material you use does not become water-logged, attracting mold and rot into your bathroom.. It might work on a vanity top, but what i liked about the waterlox is that instead of sitting on top of the wood like the polyurethane, it soaks in to create a truly waterproof finish. if water got under your polyurethane finish it could still absorb into the wood causing problems.. My ex and i had a small (25 ft.) old wooden ocean boat a the marina. it had a lot of wood trim which two or three times a year would use "marine" varnish on. the water just beaded up and ran off the varnished wood. we also used it on a wood deck at home, worked really well. a little expensive by the gallon but sounds like you may only need a pint..
